Who is behind this blog

Hello, gamarjoba, welcome!

If you are here, it means that you chose Georgia as a place to give birth. You’re on a very important journey and gosh, it’s gonna be a really transformative one.

My name is Daria, Dariko or @darikomogzauri if you are using instagram. I’ve been living in Tbilisi since 2013 and during these years I managed to learn Georgian language, switch from a governmental job to become self-employed in the wine tourism sphere, co-write a book about Georgian wine… ah yes, I also married a good friend of mine and we had a big beautiful baby boy in February 2022!

What is it about?

This blog is something between my personal diary and a notebook with things I learned on my journey. There will be a couple of professional photos, but mostly it's all shoot on my smartphone without pre-staging - just honest, raw pictures from real life.

Georgia is all about Facebook groups and no websites, so it’s not easy to research certain things even if you speak the language. If you are an expat in Georgia, and you are about to become a parent, I hope my experience will help you prepare better (but to be honest, you’ll never be 100% ready).

It's about each of us

Like Mother of Georgia, I am welcoming you with a bowl of wine, but my second arm is holding my son because life matters more than any weapon. We are all Mothers in Georgia here, so let’s talk more about pregnancy and birth in beautiful Sakartvelo!
